Messy code

### Messy code

Nesting can be very useful, but sometimes it can make your code look super messy. Take a look at this example:

                    <iframe class="fragment" src="/render_code/10?code=print%20%27Let%20me%20guess%20who%20you%20are%27%0Ahaircolor%20%3D%20ask%20%27What%20is%20your%20haircolor%3F%27%0Aglasses%20%3D%20ask%20%27Do%20you%20wear%20glasses%3F%27%0Aif%20haircolor%20is%20black%0A%20%20%20%20if%20glasses%20is%20yes%0A%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20print%20%27You%20must%20be%20Jade%21%27%0A%20%20%20%20else%0A%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20print%20%27You%20must%20be%20Ahmed%21%27%0Aelif%20haircolor%20is%20blonde%0A%20%20%20%20if%20glasses%20is%20yes%0A%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20print%20%27You%20must%20be%20Patrick%21%27%0A%20%20%20%20else%0A%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20print%20%27You%20must%20be%20Miranda%21%27%0Aelse%0A%20%20%20%20print%20%27You%20must%20be%20Jackie%21%27"></iframe>

<aside class="notes">Ask the students which person has blonde hair and no glasses. It will take them a while to read this code.
Show them that in the next slide, the code is much easier to read when using the and keyword.</aside>

and keyword

### and keyword

In this case the `and` keyword comes in handy.

This way the code is much more readable and you don't have to worry about the indentation so much!

                    <iframe class="fragment" src="/render_code/10?code=print%20%27Let%20me%20guess%20who%20you%20are%27%0Ahaircolor%20%3D%20ask%20%27What%20is%20your%20haircolor%3F%27%0Aglasses%20%3D%20ask%20%27Do%20you%20wear%20glasses%3F%27%0Aif%20haircolor%20is%20black%20and%20glasses%20is%20yes%0A%20%20%20%20print%20%27You%20must%20be%20Jade%21%27%0Aelif%20haircolor%20is%20black%20and%20glasses%20is%20no%0A%20%20%20%20print%20%27You%20must%20be%20Ahmed%21%27%0Aelif%20haircolor%20is%20blonde%20and%20glasses%20is%20yes%0A%20%20%20%20print%20%27You%20must%20be%20Patrick%21%27%0Aelif%20haircolor%20is%20blonde%20and%20glasses%20is%20no%0A%20%20%20%20print%20%27You%20must%20be%20Miranda%21%27%0Aelse%0A%20%20%20%20print%20%27You%20must%20be%20Jackie%21%27"></iframe>

<aside class="notes">If you'd ask the students now who has blonde hair and no glasses, they could answer much more quickly.
Making a code readable is a valuable skills for your students to learn and the and keyword will probably feel very natural to them.</aside>

or keyword

### or keyword

Much like the `and` keyword, there also is an `or`!

                    <iframe class="fragment" src="/render_code/10?code=print%20%27Pick%20a%20number%20from%201%20to%206%27%0Aprint%20%27Two%20of%20these%20numbers%20will%20get%20you%20a%20price%21%27%0A%0Alist_of_numbers%20%3D%201%2C%202%2C%203%2C%204%2C%205%2C%206%0Aprice_number%20%3D%20list_of_numbers%20at%20random%0Aremove%20price_number%20from%20list_of_numbers%0Asecond_price_number%20%3D%20list_of_numbers%20at%20random%0A%0Achosen_number%20%3D%20ask%20%27Which%20number%20do%20you%20pick%3F%27%0Aif%20chosen_number%20is%20price_number%20or%20chosen_number%20is%20second_price_number%0A%20%20%20%20print%20%27Hooray%21%20You%20have%20won%20a%20price%21%27%0Aelse%0A%20%20%20%20print%20%27Sorry%2C%20no%20price%20for%20you...%27"></iframe>

<aside class="notes">Show the students this code. It will very likely feel natural to them.</aside>
